Former Tsunderia talent, turned PC manager, turned PC talent, Dizzy also did a stream titled: Why You Should NOT Join Phase Connect where she explained what it means to go from being an indie to a corpo talent. What is expected of you, what groups success means, deadline expectations. I think one of the reasons for PC's success has been setting realistic expectations with their talents. I think part of the reason for this steam is to dissuade the people who previous would have misunderstood what PC can and cannot do you for.

VTubing (or content creation in general) is not an easy activity. You need time, you need patience and you need determination to even persevere let alone thrive doing it - even then, strong will and dedication might not be enough sometimes.

We all have our oshi or just creators whose content we enjoy but sometimes those people vanish. Maybe they got bored or tired and decided to quit. Maybe they disappeared suddenly without a trace. Either way, they're no longer active and the only thing left are the archives.

I've been thinking about one of such VTubers recently and thought this could be an interesting topic to reminiscence and learn about people you've never heard about.

The one I've been thinking about is Vasuki, a French streamer who used to be active on Twitch. She streamed variety of games, with FFXIV as a regular "filler" between them. While she wasn't huge, she seemed to be doing fine and nothing really indicated she's planning to stop her activities. She was even working on an AI powered partner to use during streams. One day she simply vanished. No more streams, no more archives, no more tweets - she's just gone.

I'm sure some of you have a similar story so I'd like to ask you to tell me about the VTubers of your past. Who were they? What did they do? What was your favorite thing about them?

Astel from Holostars committed the cardinal sin of "mentioning publicly he ordered McDonalds" (tweet / archive). Yes, really.

And his replies got flooded by mostly western fans posting a JP translation (archive) of that stupid boycott infographic as well as several of them having embarassing breakdowns on their own timelines over the fact Astel talked about french fries on twitter. One person went so far as DMing him to "educate" him and was promptly blocked leading to the person having a meltdown of their own (twitter / nitter).

Whether related or not the "storm" concluded with Astel tweeting out (archive) he would be taking a week off. I'm doubting it's a punishment as I don't think Holo gives two shits about this boycott noise and Astel didn't even say or do anything actually inflamatory. Could be he's just peacing out till the dust settles and people calm down, or could just be he's taking time to practice for the upcoming concert for Holostars which is less than 2 weeks away.

New posting is restricted and the only posts from the past two months are from their official account.

Took them long enough to realize how "negligible" the impact has been on the english community.

Art asset scams are notorious in the vtubing scene, and just as infamous are what I'd call recalcitrant artists - artists who seem to take forever when working on small indie clients' jobs but are suddenly on the ball when doing work for more renowned streamers, with few if any updates to their worried clients about what's going on.

Thus, Vgen has sought to implement a minimum guaranteed delivery date of a 2-year period to create some sort of safety net for clients, as well as restricting users' accounts who have 3 or more overdue jobs for clients.

Over-entitled artists were upset at very basic buyer protection measures for works that can cost clients sometimes several hundred dollars (particularly with models or art assets) and seethed about it on social media. The only real direct changes were that Vgen delayed implementing these new measures until June, and pushed back the guaranteed delivery date to 2 years instead of 150 days.

For a day or two twitter was filled with an assortment of screeds about how this is "literally killing artists" by making them work under realistic delivery conditions.
