Original Title: The 1st pic is Windows Media Player(WMP) vs MPV. And the 2nd one is WMP vs Pot player (tweaked). So as you can see even after tweaking Pot player,WMP still looks amezing. But i believe Pot player can achieve WMP's visual quality with right settings. So if anyone has done it then share your settings.

I have tried linux 3 times but didn't last long. Here are the experiences that I still remember when trying out linux mint.

  1. Screen tearing (had to find a way to fix it, why is this even a problem in modern os?)
  2. Experimental zoom scale? In 2025? (I usually use 125% zoom on my laptop)
  3. Why does everything need to run by command line? Especially software setup, press next next next is much more faster than searching for the command line on the browser and pasting and running it.
  4. Why can't I install multiple things at once? The package manager sometime got stuck installing the browser, which locks down my entire software setup process because I can't install more than one thing at a time.
  5. Why is the brand new linux mint os shipped with outdated kernel (which causing a lot of problem)
  6. Hard to find software for everything, or the alternative softwares are just suck.

Everything takes too much time, from searching command line, searching for setup process and if there are any bugs or errors, good luck finding the solution. I feels like if I value my time and mental health, I should not try linux again even though from time to time, my curiosity for linux still sparks. If these frustration doesn't get resolved, I don't think people will change from windows to linux (even I as a software developer feels struggle).

I had to explain this in another thread so I thought I'd put this here before the crazy work week starts tomorrow.

5090 supply is constrained. It's not by design, it's by economics. Nvidia gives consumers the scraps. Explanation -

Blackwell has been out for much longer than the CES reveal. Nvidia has been ramping up production of B100 and GB200 chips for months. The demand is backlogged months. For reference a B100 is 30,000 to 35,000 USD and the GB200 (If you can even get on the list) is 70,000 USD.

The 5090s are what's left over when TSMC has the bandwidth to even produce wafers that aren't meant for the above cards. I'm not being hyperbolic here. I bet there are less than 2500 5090s on their way to resellers right now. If you think these things aren't going to be scalped to high heaven you have another thing coming. I expect to see these bad boys for 3 4 or 5 thousand dollars on ebay by Friday morning

Original Title: I am 40 years old.. and never thought I would be able to download and install a game this fast. It is absolutely crazy to think we download 100+ GB games now, when I grew up on 56k modems that required your phoneline to become unusable. I always wonder what is next?
