After a little over a year of stitching now I still feel like a bit of a noob, but I'm pretty comfortable with the basics. These parts of patterns still give me some problems though!

My strategy is usually to just do all of one color then move on to the next filling in the gaps as I go, but when it gets down to filling individual stitches surrounded by a bunch of finished stitches it gets quite cramped and sometimes those final stitches end up looking pretty rough.

Is there some really obvious method of doing this that I'm missing? Does anyone else use a different approach?

I got behind due to a lot of stuff going on in my life, but I managed to make some progress still! Sadly because I've been working on it here and there I had some mistakes that resulted in me having to frog a bunch of stitches to get back on track, but it's looking good now!

It's still half in the qsnap here so it wouldn't lay flat. If all goes to plan I think it will be finished in a couple of weeks. 2 over 1 on 18 count.

front and messy back. i went to a craftstore with my mom a couple months ago and bought a kit on a whim. found out I really like the process of cross stitching! I definitely made some mistakes for sure but I've already ordered materials for my next project :3c So far I'm not a huge fan of back stitching but I can see the promise in it.

I'm getting so close to the bottom of the pattern! There's only about 20 more rows under the gazebo.

I did not realize how many fiddly little parts there were to this one lol I think No-Face and Haku should go a bit faster once I get to them though!

Haven't posted progress pics in a while, so I thought I'd share. This is two copies of #PraiseHim #PrayerCloth. Proofing the pattern as I go, since I was an idiot & allowed excitement to override common sense prior to posting it on Ko-Fi.

For the (currently) unproofed pattern posted to Ko-Fi, the #Free #DigitalOnly version is here: https://ko-fi.com/s/3ce465a10a

And you can find the Paid #Printable version here: https://ko-fi.com/s/de5b8faf0f

This is how I use a #TrolleyNeedle as a #LayingTool while #Railroading in #CrossStitch . I apologize I couldn't do a longer video than about two stitches--it told me my video was too large to upload otherwise.

Before anyone ask I'm not planning on doing the dark world anytime soon. This project was one of the first I started and after many breaks and other projects I finally laid the final stitch. Now to clean and dry then frame it.

I hope to finish this one by tomorrow night!

I can't put this down. I'm having so much fun stitching this. The halfway point is the top of the duck's head. I'm so close to halfway!

I'm still alive, still stitching. I took a break, or more like World of Warcraft dragged me away. I lost my character after 50 hours of playtime and I uninstalled windows. My mental health dramatically improved when screen time went down. Especially because I started stitching again.

So here is my needlepoint project that I started earlier this year. Doesn't look like much but it'll become lovely once I develop it further. It's huge so the FO post's ETA is somewhere in 20XX.

First time doing an odd shaped fabric thingy, so the edges aren't too great. Plus, didn't figure out a better method of punching around the outlines til close to the end...Meh, still makes us all giggle like school children, heh.

Oh, if anyone knows of a video tutorial on folding over, shaping, and gluing monks cloth with odd shapes (i don't have this issue with softer fabrics)...I'd be so thankful, heh. I just could not get it to work, so I just gave up and rubbed marker over the edges.

Forgot to mention what I used.

Lavor needle with the largest needle in the package.
The black yarn is sport weight "I Love This Yarn" (the maximum this needle could handle).
The white is an unknown we had in our stash, and a faint thinner than the black.
Artiste Monks cloth, 1yd x 62in. (unknown thread count, purchased from Hobby Lobby).

And here is the frame I made.

This is the second frame I made, and since I used my table saw to cut the dowel, it left a large gap, to which I used the jute as a means to grasp onto the cloth. However, it was partially intentional as I wanted to put more into the dowels holding onto the sides of the fabric over the center parts.

The only real problem I had with it was the dowels. It's not easty gripping and twisting to tighten the fabric down. I much prefer the square ones I made on my first model. They offered a much better grip for tightening. Once I feel up to it, I'll make a couple for this one, but they'll have to be thinner than the first model. Which might not be possible. Hmm! Still haven't decided on what I'll do yet.

Hi All! Sorry I missed the last couple of weeks. Life got in the way a bit. This is really only like a week and a half of progress. I had a week of basically no stitching time. I am so close to the halfway point! 2 over 1 on 18 count.
