A place for the discussion and sharing of Elian works, both original and found elsewhere.

What is Elianscript? It’s an alternative writing system whose properties combine the linearity of spelling with the free-form nature of drawing.

It’s also kind of like a weak cipher, to those not in the know. Similar to a pigpen cipher, but instead of randomly jumbling the letters, we all agree to do it alphabetically. That way everyone IN the know, can read it.

Full instructions can be found here.

What about numbers? In this community we prefer to use Arabic numbers. Using other systems is fine so long as you post an explanation of how to translate them.

Puzzle for April 2025 (sh.itjust.works)
submitted 1 month ago* (last edited 5 days ago) by beastlykings to c/elianscript

Ok another puzzle! This was for March, but nobody claimed it, so April it is! First come first serve is fun, but stinks for everyone who didn't see it fast enough. I've decided to try something new, to include more people.

The code in the puzzle is NOT a gift card code! Even though it's still 14 digits, I just chose it randomly. (And tweaked a couple letters to make it easier for myself haha)

When you solve the puzzle, please comment here that you solved it, but DO NOT post the solution!

After commenting here, PM me the solution, and write the title of this post at the beginning of the message.

Then, at the end of this month, I will randomly choose a winner from all those who solved the puzzle, announce it here, and then PM them the actual gift card code.

Let me know what you all think of this! Thanks, have fun!

To do this to something, such as a word, name, message, etc., is to cause it to be unclear or distorted. This type of thing can be the result of an accident, ignorance, or a transmission error. It can also mean "to so alter or distort as to create a wrong impression or change the meaning."

It usually describes things that are very common and often—though not always—bad or unpleasant. It is also commonly used in the phrase “**** with” to mean “copiously supplied” or “having a large amount of; full of.” Unlike most adjectives, it is not used before a noun.

There was a somewhat active community on Reddit, but no alternative here. So I made it!

Feel free to post whatever Elian related material you choose! I'm gonna try to be at least semi active here.

I'm still working on rules, but for now the biggest rule is that any guesses or decoding of the elianscript in question, should be spoiler tagged. And since that doesn't work on some clients yet, you should also lead the spoiler with several returns, like this:

That way people who want to discuss hints about decoding, can do so safely without accidentally spoiling it.

Thanks! Have fun!
