I haven't been active here for camp and the pre-season. My Wife passed away in early July, and it has been hard. I'll get back to it at the start of the regular season. I haven't abandoned the community.

Lions kicker Michael Badgley is out for the entire 2024 season with a torn hamstring. Lions are down to just one kicker, Jake Bates.

Hey all, with camp just a few weeks away I'd like to reach out to you and see what you would like to see. After all, this is YOUR forum much more than it is mine.

Anything you'd like to see from me? Any kind of content you'd like to do or take over? Anything I'm doing that annoys the hell out of you?

Generally I've been trying to do an opponent preview on Monday/Tuesday, game thread, and post game thread. And yeah, I've missed occasionally. Sorry.

Bates signed a 2 year deal with the Lions after visiting the Packers and Commanders. Bates gained attention in the UFL while on the Michigan Panthers, where he kicked game winning, 64 yard and 62 yard field goals. He was 17 of 22 (77%) for the Panthers, including 7 of 7 from 40-49 yards and 6 of 10 with 50+ yards.

Interesting they gave him a two year deal instead of a one year prove it deal. Maybe they anticipate him winning the job?

Lions sign Goff to a 4 year, $212M extension, with $170M guaranteed. The $53M AAV makes Goff the 2nd highest paid player in the NFL, behind Joe Burrow. For now.

The 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit is almost upon us. Here is the breakdown:

Round 1: Thursday, 8pm ET
Rounds 2 & 3: Friday, 7pm ET
Rounds 4-7: Saturday, Noon ET

The link above lists all the events going on, and those events are free admission. Lot of cool stuff going on.

However, the pavilion where the picks are announced is a by ticket only admission, and all tickets are sold out.

St Brown gets 4 years, $120M
Sewell gets 4 years, $112M, becomes highest paid offensive lineman in the NFL.

Draft starts tomorrow and now we only have Goff left to get done.

The Lions have matched Brock Wright’s three-year, $12 million offer sheet with the San Francisco 49ers.

While LaPorta may be our #1 going forward, Wright played 44% of the Lions' snaps. He's still a big part of our offense.

One year deal, but details haven't been released yet.

Reynolds signs a two year, $14M deal with the Denver Broncos.

Guess DPJ is WR3 for now.

Detroit Lions cornerback Cam Sutton is wanted in connection with a domestic violence incident in Florida.

Lions sign former Ravens Guard, Kevin Zeitler, to a one year contract, pending physical.

Lions bring back DPJ on a 1 year, $2M contract.

Reader is the best run stuffing nose tackles in the league. Should help us in all phases of defense by swallowing up and pushing around those interior linemen.

Holmes and Campbell were extended for 4 more years.

3 years, $33M.

Not surprising. With us signing a slot corner/nickle and the rise of Brian Branch, Lions were not willing to commit big money to CJ. Good luck CJ.

Lions sign the former Raiders CB Amik Robertson.
It's a two-year, $9.25 million deal worth up to $10.75 million with incentives per NFL Network.

According to Adam Schefter:

Lions receive:
CB Carlton Davis, Buccaneers 2024 6th-round pick and a 2025 6th-round pick

Buccaneers receive:
Lions 2024 third-round pick.

Carlton Davis hasn't played a complete season in his entire career. He's good, not great, but I think we got hosed on this one. Carlton Davis has one year left on his contract.

Deal is for 1 year, haven't seen any terms yet.

Davenport isn't the Vikings DE I wanted to sign, and was injured most of 2023.

3 years, $20M. $9M guaranteed.

Lions have signed Emmanuel Moseley to a one year deal. Haven't heard for how much yet. Moseley has torn ACLs two years in a row, so hopefully he is healthy and stays healthy. If he stays healthy, it will be a boost to the CB position.

Zylstra missed all of last year with a knee injury in training camp. Haven't seen the terms, but obviously this guy isn't breaking the bank.
