Hi friends,

I've been using yt-dlp to download a few things off of YouTube Music, and I just wanted to ask a few questions about best practice. Right now, I've just been doing it this way:

yt-dlp -f bestaudio -x

I've found that has usually downloaded .opus files (though, .m4a as of late—anyone know why this is?), but, I was wondering (for the sake of compatibility with different music players), do I lose anything by passing --recode mp3?

Also, about losing the .opus files, I got this output when I ran yt-dlp -F on a link:

|ID | EXT RESOLUTION FPS CH | FILESIZE TBR PROTO | VCODEC VBR ACODEC ABR ASR MORE INFO
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
233 mp4 audio only | m3u8 | audio only unknown Default
234 mp4 audio only | m3u8 | audio only unknown Default
249 webm audio only 2 | 1.30MiB 64k https | audio only opus 64k 48k low, THROTTLED, webm_dash
250 webm audio only 2 | 1.64MiB 81k https | audio only opus 81k 48k low, THROTTLED, webm_dash
139 m4a audio only 2 | 1019.36KiB 49k https | audio only mp4a.40.5 49k 22k low, m4a_dash
251 webm audio only 2 | 3.03MiB 149k https | audio only opus 149k 48k medium, THROTTLED, webm_dash
140 m4a audio only 2 | 2.64MiB 130k https | audio only mp4a.40.2 130k 44k medium, m4a_dash

Any insights as to why I'm getting that throttling, and why it's downloading m4a instead of opus? Is it even that much of a difference? Is there some option I can pass to yt-dlp to avoid this?

Any help is much appreciated!

ACCUMULATED RELEASE SIZE FOR June 2024

From the 50.606 scene releases, only 22.616 of them had file + size information.

They total to: 32.98 TB (34.586.959 MB) in 401 thousand files (401.229).

No idea about the size of the missing information, so the real value should be much higher.

Most antivirus I tested, even the paid ones, are so annoying with popups and complaining about cracks that I just take the risk and go without em

I found some old threads but nothing I could get working today. My automated readarr setup would greatly benefit from ABB access. Which I used to have not long ago but now seems to be blocked. Not everything is on MAM, unfortunately.

430

Just a quick thanks. Sometimes I read the threads here having no idea WTF you're all on about and by the end of it come away just that little bit less ignorant. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and insight.

It seems like something new asking me to enable DRM in order to play the content on my Plex? That doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Is there something I should do to make this message go away and make my system safer?

It's the most amazing kind of software I have ever seen. You combine it with iMazed and UnlockGo to create the ultimate hacking setup for iOS iPhone like as in modify any part of the phone instantly without any issues. A guy named Ezra showed me the software and said you couldn't find it anywhere, but it has to be somewhere. He was able to bypass apples password pin and factory reset protection in like a minute or two.He wouldn't let me get a copy of it, or I would already have it. So, I have come to you all for help.

I want to use myanonymouse to download/seed books but it requires you to download from the same IP as you use to browse the website. My qBittorrent is in docker container on my home server, using gluetun with a VPN.

I tried both of these instructions to no avail I think there is something I'm missing. Shadowsocksqt5 latency just says "error" and using the chrome extension suggestion just simply doesn't load anything.

The reason I don't want to seed from my workstation pc is because myanonymouse requires you to seed to maintain your account and the workstation is mostly off. My home server is always on. Any ideas?

Hello all,

I have recently moved to pixel/graphene, and am looking to dump spotify.

On desktop I use Freetube and Nuclear which I really like, but I haven't found a good way to sync with mobile.

On the android side I have newpipe, pipepipe, libretube, RiMusic, SpMp, SimpmMusic, InnertTune, ViMusic.....

I'm a bit overwhelmed with options.

I've heard of cracked spotify apks but I'm not sure what the deal is with those

With that in mind please give recommendations or explain your solution. KDE connect integration is a nice plus some of these apps have but I'd be ok with using a standalone application as long as I can somehow control the music on either device.

I plan to start maintaining my library locally but I still need some kind of streaming solution.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Does anyone know of a reliable source for streaming England matches at the Euros? In particular, the ones that ITV have the rights to? Bonus points if it has English commentators.

I had terrible problems with their website last time

Thanks :)

I am looking for a cheap seedbox. It doesn't need more than 1TB of storage, and it would be nice if I could pay with Paysafecards

I heard that it is possible to inject video containers with malware. I also heard malware is rampant on 1337x. And I don't have an antivirus to scan files for the moment cuz I'm on Linux, also it would be too much for me to upload the movie to virustotal.

I found a release that suits my need for the movie I'm looking for, but I don't know if I can trust this uploader (TGxGoodies). the number of seeders is over 120 for the movie.
the reason I'm reluctant is that a very active uploader on 1337x: IGGGAMESCOM is labeled "Vip Uploader" despite a simple search on reddit shows that there are victims for their malware-injected uploads.

I know how to do it on a bare-metal installation. But on the Docker version, I can't figure out how to create a brand new torrent. Can someone help me out?

Sometimes, when I try to torrent using qBittorrent or Transmission, the search for metadata appears to take forever. What could be causing this issue?

I watched Star Wars Episode VII I think and on the start scene, suddenly there was random talking in the subtitles.

Then I found out that was George Lucas, talking through the entire movie, transcribed as subtitles.

Was super fun and interesting, nice work!

Stuff you only see when getting Torrents XD

As the title goes, is there a way to download content from amazon prime video?

Like yt-dl or similar...

pixeldrain is also one of the least sketchy download sites (that are commonly used)

they have a lemmy instance as well but I don't know if they know about all the piracy going on

One of the clearest demonstrations of how copyright is actively harmful is the lawsuit that four of the biggest publishers brought against the Internet Archive. As a result of the judge’s decision in favour of the publishers – currently being appealed – more than 500,000 books have been taken out of lending by the Internet Archive, including more than 1,300 banned and “challenged” books. In an open letter to the publishers in the lawsuit, the Internet Archive lists three core reasons why removing half a million ebooks is “having a devastating impact in the US and around the world, with far-reaching implications”.

I am asking because it frequently goes down, like once or twice every month. Even then, sometimes it takes a couple of days to get back to working. Once, it took about 5-6 days to get back to working.

Also, for about two months now, it has been in global freeleech. Being in freeleech for a week or two is okay, but for 2 months?

That's why I'm feeling it is being slowly abandoned.
