Since when did Wired add a paywall to their articles...?!

Damn, this is an epic project. Props to the Polygon people who coordinated all this!

I can't imagine Theoden as anybody other than Bernard Hill. He was perfect. RIP.

That chart lacks context. The cost of living has drastically increased with each generation as well, far outpacing the increase in wages.

Fuck the live-action show! All it's good for is reminding us how incredible the real show is.

They'll probably make the Guru try to kill Aang before he's immolated on-screen, which the live action showrunners love to do so much.

Minecraft. I know it's a big company now or whatever, but back when it was just Notch, it was still completely captivating.

Also, Stardew Valley!

Oh, look. Another once-in-a-lifetime disaster event. Aren't we lucky...

If Nintendo being "one generation behind once again" means I get more games like Breath of the Wilds, Mario Odyssey, Metroid Dread, and Tears of the Kingdom (just to name a few of the incredible first-party games this generation), then I'm fine with that!

A weird AI picture of a phone. Promoting a hydration tracker as "an app you can't live without." And your only other post is about another app, and one of your three comments is promoting another app...

I can't imagine shill accounts are a thing on Lemmy yet, but...

Well, this is terrifying. The experience of slowly becoming not only a "product" but almost an "enemy of the state" has been surreal and disheartening to say the least.

I'm really enjoying Lemmy and Memmy so far, but even after downloading yesterday's update, I'm constantly having to re-enter my password.

If I force close the app and re-open it, I need to enter my password. If I just minimize the app for a minute or more, I have to enter my password when I come back. If I don't enter my password, it doesn't show any of my subscriptions.

Is there a fix I'm overlooking? Again, I downloaded yesterday's update and double-checked to make sure there's not another update available (as of right now, there's not). I'm using Lemmy.world if that makes a difference.

Thanks for any help!
