He would have crushed Trump under his heel. Almost anyone would have.

Guess it was a little too embarrassing for them.

I mean we saw this in 2023. Companies fired people and replaced them with AI that was unable to do the job.

I mean that by itself wasn't, but yeah overall the Bush administration and 2000 Republican Party is just as guilty of pulling a coup as Trump. Moreso, even. (Actually a lot moreso.)

The country just turns a blind eye because they don't want to admit the whole bush presidency was illegitimate.

Yeah all the participants of the 2000 election steal got rewarded big time.

The US companies claim they have economic reasons but really this is just part of a cycle that shareholders understand but companies hope employees will not.

They claim they're fixing problems by firing people, but for the most part these are companies that are more profitable than ever.

There's much less worker protection in the US, though. A lot of these companies have EU branches and I bet those EU branches are mostly left alone during these layoffs for that reason.

Remember how a bunch of Republican staffers rioted and tried to intimidate the vote counters in Florida? (The "Brooks Brothers riot".) Remember when the Supreme Court halted the vote count and declared Bush has won? Remember how the eventual full count of the votes showed Gore won by all metrics?

I fucking remember that.

But they'll still make themselves out to be poor orphans begging for scraps on the street corner because their wealth and power pales in comparison to their greed. It could never hope to keep up.

Growth for the sake of growth is cancer. That's what it is. It destroys bodies and societies alike.

Man, i remember back when we called Google "the engineering company". Not anymore...

This is the one i'm referring to.

(Though don't trust the details there, the whole story fell apart as soon as scrutiny was applied. The NYT (i think, it's paywalled) did a follow up where they basically determined federal marshals just rolled up on the dude in the middle of the street and shot him in cold blood.)

Of course not, inconvenient things like that don't get investigated in the first place.
