Jump in both feet first. You wont regret ditching apple! The first thing you accidently break, you can probably replace yourself for around £10 (if you break a port). I have a HP EliteBook 840 G9 for my business and a Framework 13 Ryzen 7 for my personal device. Broke a port on my HP, £250 repair.

Wife has a MacBook, wifi failed, cant be replaced. That was over £2,300 just over 22 months ago. I just dont know why people choose Macs anymore - apart from the speakers which people keep telling me ;)

Fedora 39 or PopOS! in my experience

The gap looks too big between the laptop base and the udnerside of the screen metal housing. Also looks like it hasnt lined up correctly. Have you tired resitting it. Looks like its pressing on something inside, probably a cable. Did you watch the video on installing it?

I run 3 x 27" monitors from my Thinkpad dock, connected to one USBc port on my Ryzen 7 Framework

That for me though means owning a mac, which is just something I cannot bring myself to ever do again :)
