ADB does not require root. Just need a computer with ADB set up, or the app LADB (purchase on the app store) and a WiFi network.

That doesn't sound like a terrible thing, though. If uninstalling something with ADB causes unwanted side effects, it's much less hassle to fix it.

Are you using a carrier device or an unlocked device? All of my Samsung devices are unlocked and have almost no bloat, no meta stuff in sight.

Regardless, check out methods of uninstalling system apps with ADB. If you don't have a computer to use, the app, LADB, let's you use ADB commands on the device and executes them over wifi through wireless ADB

And local ADB over wifi is a thing, so another device isn't even needed anymore.

This navigation rail

You do great work!! Sync has been my most used app for longer than I remember.

Any chance for some tweaks for tablets and foldables?

• I think it would be nice to be able to hide the navigation rail. It feels like a lot of wasted space. The FAB can do everything the rail can while being better looking and easier to reach.

• Maybe more column settings for view types (for folded/unfolded)? I like a single column on the outside screen, 2 columns on the inner screen in portrait, and 3 columns on the inner screen in landscape. This is possible in Infinity for Lemmy. But Infinity, as a whole, is not nearly as polished as your app.

I currently use Infinity on my Fold's outer display for single column viewing and Sync on the inner display with tablet mode disabled to avoid the navigation rail. These tweaks would be awesome for foldable users (all 10 of us) so we could get a better use of space while also enjoying the tablet mode features.
