While the idea and visualisation is indeed good, there is an error in the visualization.

Namely, the meaning of "->" is inconsistent. IMO it should be the return value of the function call (like in reverse), but for at least pop, the visualization shows the array instead of the array + return value.

The visualisation could be improved by clarifying, that the array after the function call is visualised. And using -> isn't the best option IMO, because people expect the right side to contain the return value.

Ich hatte nicht gedacht, dass ich Mal den Tag miterlebe, wo Wettermoderator*en angegriffen werden. Ich meine.... die berichten ja einfach das Wetter. Das WETTER. DAS unkritischte Thema überhaupt... würde man meinen....

Bei so einem Alarm kann ich das ignorieren der Stummschaltung aber auch verstehen. Ciele haben automatische Stummschaltung während Arbeitszeiten - aber ein Alarm ist halt wichtiger...

Oh, I have two good ones:

1. Nuclear power causes less deaths (per energy unit produced) than wind (source)

2. You get less radiation when living near a nuclear power plant, than if that nuclear plant hadn't been there.

To explain the second: A major misconception is, that nuclear power plants are dangerous due to their radiation. No they aren't. The effect of radiation from the rocks in the ground and the surroundings is on average 50x more than what you get from the nuclear power plant and it's fuel cells. (source). Our body is very well capable of dealing with the constant background radiation all the time (e.g. DNA repairs). Near a power plant, the massive amounts of isolation and concrete will inhibit any background radiation coming from rocks from that direction to you. This means, that you'll actually get slightly less radiation, because the nuclear plant is there.

The EU AI Act would require the company to disclose details of its training methods and data sources.

If we're not going to make this apply to AI companies, which have overporportionate power already, then what else is there to talk about?

• Nuclear Fission Reaktoren
• Effizientes Zugsystem (ähem, Japan und Schweiz)
• Nachhaltiges Bauen (kenne konkrete Namen nicht)
• Lebensfreundliche und begehbare Städte statt Städte für Autos (siehe NotJustBikes YouTube Kanal)

Alles hat bereits in vielerlei Hinsicht zur Nachhaltigkeit beigetragen. Dazu gibt es genug Evidenz via einfacher Recherche.

Das ist auch der Grund, warum ich von Nuclear Fusion wenig halte. Selbst wenn wir es in 10 Jahren schaffen, ist die Technologie so komplex und schwer zu replizieren, dass bis dahin die verpassten Chancen mit anderen etablierten Technologien beißen werden. Nuclear Fusion ist nicht der Retter vor dem Klimawandel...

Ich kann deine Entscheidung zwar nachvollziehen, aber ich persönlich habe dort zb andere Prioritäten. Für mich ist die Größe und Diversität der Teilnehmenden in einer solchen community wichtig, damit die Diskussionen interessant und tatsächlich besser sind.

Und aktuell befürchte ich, dass die Diversität hier auf Lemmy noch ziemlich gering ist.
