Great resource! Thanks a lot for reposting it here so we won't have to go back to the old site.

Thanks for giving it a try!

This is a great idea! There's a Python API wrapper for Lemmy that should make this much more straight forward to do Here.

Self-hosting it and it's been working fine for me since April of last year. Are you hosting it yourself, or are you going to a public invidious site?

It can be done, I believe someone even said they were working on a Lemmy/Kbin rewrite for Infinity, but until kbin.social enables its API an app won't work with it.

Kbin can be added to you homescreen since it works as a webapp. No native apps for iOS, yet. AFAIK the API is not enabled on kbin.social so that will have to come first before native apps can make use of it.

Heroic and Steam. Lutris I've used but nothing ever "just works" when I've tried it, and didn't feel like wasting brain cycles learning configuration for another piece of software

Never go into business with Oracle when anything of value is on the line

Truer words have not been spoken.

That's not even considering that you're not going to be able to talk to a rep about it, or appeal that claw back in any way. Hell they'll even terminate your whole account without warning, not just the VM. If I found out the admin of the Lemmy instance I'm using was hosting it on Oracle I would delete my profile immediately without a second thought.

Have a Oneplus 7 Pro, first Oneplus phone I've owned and it will be the last. Absolutely love the phone itself, but Oneplus as a company, the software they package, the warranty issues, and the direction they've gone as a value pick have all fallen off a cliff since it was produced, and have turned me off to ever upgrading to one of their newer models. That's fine for me though, I have replacement parts on-hand, and a third-party actually maintained rom, so I'm OP7P until the wheels fall off this thing.

Edit: Can't comment with experience on other OP phones, but I've heard very good things about the 6s, it was my second pick when I was looking for a phone at the time.

There's always a catch. Oracle has and will claw back that free allowance unless you meet specific criteria or move to a pay-as-you-go tier with a cc on file with a $100 authorization charge, and even then they may. Ask me how I know lol

If you want to ask TheDude specifically there's no need to open a comment thread here, you can just PM him directly.

You can always make an account at lemmy.sdf.org. I was checking them out a few days ago and they have no servers blocked at all, and sdf is a really great organization to boot. This server will in time defederate other instances, of that there is no doubt. Discussions and voting on it have already happened, and may or may not be implemented, or invalidated. If you're looking for an instance that haven't defederated others, there are many options to choose from like the one I posted above, or you can choose to stay here and try to change minds, but you'll likely be facing an uphill battle.
