It might be more expensive for them to pay whoever is going to send that money than the actual fine...
Higher interest rates means they have more pressure to start being profitable is my guess.
Sorting by new comments gives posts with no comments! Pretty big annoyance for me tbh.

Yep, same. Wish it was possible to recover the data that was on there, but it's my fault for not reading about their policy on inactivity.
Around when I was getting started with Japanese, I studied around 1k of core vocab with Anki. Not that it wasn't repetitive. The thing with learning language (IMO) is that it's a lot more fun and easy to stick with if you find something enjoyable to practice with. Maybe in your case that's reading really simple stories or something like that. BTW, I'd also recommend Cure Dolly for grammar.
