Absolutely on point. The intimacy of irc servers is nowhere to be found on these massive boards nowadays.
I stopped modding seriously long ago the moment I realized the community was getting too big and that the it is basically unpaid labour.
never subscribed. always used someone else's account. didn't feel any need to since i got kicked out a few months ago. there are a lot of cheaper alternatives in the budget in India. for stuff on Netflix i can always well... but i still haven't interestingly because their output is generally bad. interestingly it is their third party catalog of European tv shows that always interested me.
Will probably stick around and keep coming back to lemmy. When I first went on to mastodon i didn't quite like it cuz the whole facebook/twitter interface didn't work for me but this is very neat.
