They could even acquire TSMC if push came to shove. Their large cash holdings gives Apple so much strategic leverage.

You realize that TSMC is way bigger than Apple, right? Apple's entire current cash reserves would be enough to buy 1% of the company.

Limiting the T5 EVO to 5 Gbps speeds with its USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C connector.

The drive maxes out at 460MB/s throughput anyway, the USB 3.2 Gen 1 connection is "limiting" it to ~600MB/s throughput, which it will never hit because these drives are slow as shit.

I would not expect an acknowledgement or recall of the drives that also have issue and have not been officially confirmed to have issues.

Which has resulted in, at least for me, zero sales of these drives, because I have no idea if the drives in stock at distribution have the old firmware or the new firmware. You can't expect your average consumer to check and update the firmware on a drive, so without a recall or a new model, I'm just not touching these drives at all, because I don't need my customers complaining about lost data.

Selling a $1600 laptop with 8gb should earn them as much derision as the apocryphal Bill Gates quote about 640k.

Moreso, really, because at the time that quote was attributed, 640K was at least sufficient for the vast majority of people.

In 2023, 8GB unified RAM isn't adequate for much beyond browsing the internet. These benchmarks clearly show that you lose a huge amount of performance (well over 50%) going with 8GB over 16GB.
