Seems fair.
I will note that both of our sources point out that the term has become overused, which was my fucking point.
We lost a valuable term and now it's worthless, even as a colloquialism.
Mississippi has a minimum speed of 30 mph on four-lane U.S. Highways when no hazard exists.
Ah! Mystery solved.
I will say a quick search through the article seems to show Mississippi is an exception - most states only have minimum speeds of 40-45mph.
.world loves to trot out the fact that highly skilled workers have sick leave now and it really pisses me off
The reality is 90% of workers have been able to get some form of sick leave, but 10,000 are still left with zero. It's been years! If the unions had been allowed to strike they could and would have gotten sick leave for every single worker, probably immediately, but the most vulnerable were abandoned. That's all that is possible without being allowed to strike. Imagine how much more was possible!
Just imagine what would have been possible if Biden hadn't broken the rail strike.
I'm glad he realized doing that again would destroy Harris's election chances. A lesson for labor: Democrats are only your friend when they need your votes.
I know that automated Amazon sorting facilities kill workers, the conveyance systems especially are extremely dangerous. People get sucked in to belts, bashed over the head by moving machinery and product, etc.
In the real world there are always workers forced to risk their lives with these machines.
Automation isn't inherently bad, but it is bad when it's implemented as a way to increase worker exploitation. That's how it always works in real life, rather than promotional videos.
Not everyone gets to be at a desk.
Genocidal ethnostates (but I repeat myself) are not legitimate and should not exist.
It's shocking to me that there are still "people" that support this so called country.
Is this even a lawful sign? Or just a shit head city council being cute? I know minimums can be posted on the interstate, but come on, this is clearly a city road.
Here's what the Cleveland Clinic says:
Gaslighting is a very specific form of emotional abuse and mental manipulation that disrupts your ability to trust others and yourself. While the term has gained popularity online, in reality TV and other pop culture avenues, it’s also a term that’s often over-used to describe other kinds of bad behavior like lying, guilt-tripping or shaming.
In truth, people use these tactics and more to gaslight their targets over long periods of time in an effort to gain power and control over their victims. But it’s specifically the pattern of repetitive behavior that’s used to deteriorate a victim’s morality, sanity and sense-of-self that fundamentally defines gaslighting abuse.
A "very specific" form of emotional abuse that's "over-used" to describe lying, but in truth, people uses these tactics to "deteriorate a victim’s morality, sanity and sense-of-self"
Applying this to a debate performance is troubling. He's just a lying asshole.
Automation will only be used to make the job tougher and more grueling.
A job that used to take three people now has to be done by one, but at a much faster pace and now there's a deadly robot that you have to work with.
You work in supply chain. Let me guess. Desk job?
Legitimacy comes from the consent of the governed.
If the governed stop voting, the legitimacy goes away.
