Obviously Barnsley are a big club with a full time secretary and I get there are no excuses for them, but it amazes me in this day and age there isn’t a shared database or online tool the FA can use that tracks player registrations and would alert clubs in advance when a player isn’t eligible. Would be a huge help especially to non league clubs where the prize money is so important.

It’s promising that it works at grassroots. If it works in the parks it will work in the stadiums. The game we watch should be the game we play.
