The 24/7/365 reliability, ie how long it goes without crashing or restarting from a power glitch, of a desktop PC would concern me. That and the electricity to power it.

I have a HomeKit system of an AppleTV hub & Thread Border Router some Eve outlets, Nanoleaf Thread light, and one lone Wifi outlet. All was well last night when everything turned off at midnight.

I woke up this morning with everything except the WiFi outlet in the dreaded "updating" state, and non-responsive. Replugging the outlets & light did not help, so get things back under control, I had to restart the AppleTV and the backup hub in my iPad. After that everything is fine.

Anyone have any idea what happened? I tried looking at logs in Controller but that data seems pretty random and completely meaningless--I haven't found that app/application to be nearly as useful as I expected.

Thanks!

Thinking about replacing my two openers and want to tie those into my HomeKit world. With the recent news from Chamberlain, I'm looking for suggestions about other brands. Looks to me like the Meross WiFi opener and a not-smart opener might be the way to go (or just ignore the smart part since they all seem to be proprietary). I looked at Genie openers

Any suggestions?
