Once the epicenter for deadly human-elephant conflict, an eastern Nepal village along the Indian border has transformed into a model of coexistence.

Villagers, once fearful, have adopted elephant-resistant crops and beekeeping, and through a rapid response team, they safely guide elephants away.

Dutch chocolate maker Tony’s Chocolonely has long been at the forefront of pushing for more sustainability in cocoa production.

The hope now is that the EUDR, which aims to get rid of deforestation in the supply chains of imported commodities, will also help provide better technical and economic support to the farmers who supply much of the world’s cocoa.
