I think it is a similar situation like mastodon vs X.com right?

yeah 48 hours from now is an ideal timeframe. let's see where it goes.

that is really bad because I am one of the moderator for one of the community in that servers. if this spreads out and took longer than expected. I might consider move my community to other servers.

This also one of the benefit of federation. We need to proceed very carefully about this (no hasty decision). we can't just defederate immediately and later we backtrack our decision. This does not look good.

Because Threads is brand new platform that is younger than Lemmy. we don't know yet what are the advantage and disadvantage of defederate with them. it will better we wait for a couple of weeks or months after the Facebook implement the policy. then we can vote again.

Yeah, I just don't understand why people are paranoid about this situation. chill out

[–] [email protected] -2 points 1 year ago (4 children)

because it is not implemented yet.

I would prefer wait and see approach because threads is still barely new platform and younger than lemmy

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

best way is wait and see because Facebook does not implement the policy yet

it looks like Reddit just implement new policy on whole site maybe to save time and less headache instead check the subs manually. But, yeah, it is quite mess-up.
