Ya know, it's sorta funny that this kind of connectivity is what started 'workgroup' networks... ThickNet, ThinNet, etc. Ring topology is a good idea until you mix people and their computers in!
mod tools are utter shit and they should be ashamed for releasing software in this state. FOSS or not, it’s embarrassing.
Some people don't like to hear the truth. From what I can tell, this is a two-guy project... hopefully more will join in on the effort and improve the codebase. Something tells me despite having communist leanings, they won't want to share. I foresee a fork in the future.
Thanks, I'll check it out!
"You don't build in tights... You rule."
On a more serious note... 'Old World' reminds me of the Masons and the ruling class from Europe.
Jesus christ that was hard to find. I had to click the permalink of your comment, THEN the hamburger menu. Couldn't do it from your user profile or from the comment in 'post' view. Got it done, though!
Finally getting solid documentation on the physical and logical topology of my station is exciting.
It's the best. Watch out for hidden 4-port switches under desks... I swear those fuckers are like cockroaches.
The spirit is definitely here. I even hit 'Top Blocked Users' in the Top 10 of our security suite (out of globally 10,000 users) due to federating some porno feeds. I was like, 'Yo! I don't even know lemmy.world, must have been some federation in my feed I didn't even see. '
So frustrating... I have a fleet of around 40 devices I have to update with coordination of each site.
Might want to check out Salt and Sanctuary.
Hahaha! With the 'local' culture of each instance. It's fun!
A solid choice, IMO. Good to wait for releases rather than roll your own unless you have a VERY good reason to.
