Yeah FW have some major streamlining themselves to do.

They had a giant pile of 11th gen boards they found recently and sold for cheap.

Absolutely. Don't know why Google is being absolved here. Yeah they're not the sole reason the car drove off the bridge but they are a contributing factor and have a duty of care.

There can be some culpability in Google's direction, it doesn't have to be all the blame.

It's absolutely negligent of Google to suggest that route after been informed multiple times over 10 years the bridge is collapsed.

Android:

  • Nexdns.io^1 - Open source DNS provider with DNSSEC and over TLS. Then can also block ads at the DNS level. I don't actually use the app, I apply it at the system level with the "private DNS" settings.
  • Bitwarden^2 - Open Source password manager with Yubikey auth and stores TOTP.
  • Imagepipe^3 - Quickly and easily strip exif data from image (open source too).
  • Markor^4 - Used to make local notes of things I don't want shared over a cloud or google connection. Just a .md note.
  • Wireguard^5 - Have my own VPN setup for when i'm on public wifi, also allows me to access my server/applications remotely.
  • URLCheck^6 - This app is fantastic, intercepts links to remove tracking parameters, unshorten them or even scan them with a virustotal API. I also use it to redirect twitter to nitter or apply a paywall remover.

I guess it's going to stop any standard agencies with a warrant. Confiscating the machine for it to sit in a warehouse until some forensic techs get their hands on it.

Is it possible or just theoretically possible? It doesn't seem much of an attack vector?

I also guess it's more from law enforcement siezing equipment too?

They knew it wasn't feasible but made it law anyways and passed it to ofcom to generate the guidelines for these companies to follow.

Absolutely incredible.

What does “without any disks in use” mean?

  • If the computer is powered off, moved or confiscated, there is no data to retrieve.
  • We get the operational benefits of having fewer breakable parts. Disks are among the components that break often. Therefore, switching away from them makes our infrastructure more reliable.
  • The operational tasks of setting up and upgrading package versions on servers become faster and easier.
  • Running the system in RAM does not prevent the possibility of logging. It does however minimise the risk of accidentally storing something that can later be retrieved.

A good tip also, when you scan a link with virus total. Clicking it will show a text output of the scan, long pressing the result will launch the virus total results page for more detail.

Love this app! Been using it for ages and have donated a few times.

I've setup a couple of custom redirects to get rid of some paywalls, redirect twitter to nitter

Mainly use it to remove tracking and just intercept URLs.

The virustotal scan is cool, I purposefully clicked a few links in my spam.

They threatened to leave and the UK Gov called these companies bluff. They won't leave.

They offer someone else the job
