For back up storage I only plan to plug in occasionally is a SSD or HDD portable drive better for long term unpowered storage without data loss? in c/[email protected]

HDDs are not unmetered warranty wise. My new 18TB Seagates has a something like 150TB/year write endurance (TBW) if I want to keep the warranty.

FYI, the V600 is CCX (excellent quality but very expensive) while the V39 is CIS (okay quality but much cheaper).

This! I wanted to digitalize postcards from the end of the 1800s and everyone suggested me either perfection V600 or V850. I postponed buying one because I only had less than 50 cards back then. I will look into V39 for sure too. It looks like a perfectly valid alternative.

To be honest, the only thing that holds me back to delete my reddit profile is the DH subredit. If you can find a way to move away from Reddit that would be great! At least keep up the boycott for sure!
