Imho the main argument for github is that it lowers the hurdle for new ane ad-hoc contributions like issues. I'm problably too lazy to registsr a new account for your instance just to open a bug report.

I'd love a federated git/issue/wiki thing

I tried using a raspberry pi as a Nas multiple times. In my experience it works fine with only one disk via USB. But as soon as I am using multiple drives via USB I have problems with random disconnects of the drives. Any form of raid or zfs-raids are unusable. But even using the drives separately as different filesystems doesn't work reliably.

This happens as well with drives with a separate power supply. So it's not a power issue.
