ITT: people giving wrong answers to a post linked to a blog that answers the question 'What is PID 0?'

If someone is trying to achieve a goal through (what they might not know are) impossible means, "letting them be" isn't going to help them.

Although it might not seem very helpful (and indeed there are better ways of helping) pointing out the flaws in the approach is contributing more than "letting them be". Doesn't cost a thing to be civil about it though.

For me to even consider using AI in my terminal, it'd have to meet a couple of requirements:

  • needs to be open source
  • needs to be run without network access
  • needs to be an extensible utility to any terminal program.

(And that's off the top of my head.)

As someone not living in Britain, this headline reads like an invitation.

Honestly, I don't think increasing the amount would make a difference. He won't be able to buy back the years of life they took from him with it. He can use that 25M to spend the years he has left living as rich of a life as he wants, and by all means he deserves it.

l'd say Linux Mint or Fedora as a distro.

And as a desktop environment (which I think will influence your Linux experience far more than the distro pick) I'd pick KDE or Cinnamon or if you want to go old school XFCE (which is little easier on the resources) (all three stick to a more traditional desktop paradigm, so the switch from windows wont be as awkward)

luckily you can switch the DE pretty easy. you can just install them on your distro of choice and use them side by side if you'd like to try them out (generally speaking, you can choose which DE session you want to use on your login screen)

Orders with no tip might take longer to get delivered — are you sure?

Well, I 'might' not order from you again then — are you sure?

I ran a command that borked my bootloader and had to do a fresh install.

Just wait until you learn the powers of chroot :)

Sponsored by 3M. Cool, so now they can give the soap to all people living near their PFAS plants.

... they can get by without US support

Israel already receiving US support since 1973. So that ship has sailed, so to speak.
