They were good amendments. They might even have brought the law into compliance with the charter. So of course the SaskParty voted against them.

Until you realize it is -40 for more than half the year, there are no doctors and ER wait times are measured in days. And don't say healthcare isn't important, it is even more important after 65.

This is an interesting thread. Granted it is not by a lawyer.

Have not heard anything about this limit on the Notwithstanding Clause (Section 33) if it disproportionately affects people on the basis of gender.

Didn't the New Brunswick cons that brought in the same pronoun law get over turned because it is against the Charter? Nothing like Duncan just showing his hate for LGBTQ+ people.

If this government decides to do anything it will 100% be in favour of the employer and not the servers. But odds are this government will do nothing to regulate tips because the lack of rules now already allows employers to screw the employees.

 

Good for these protesters. The only way this gov does anything is if you get in their face and make life difficult for them.
