Ah shit I think you are right. Feels like I have had it forever but seems that was a false memory of some sort.

I bought it while I lived in my previous apartment which I feel was longer ago and so I got a bit confused with the dates I think lol. Thanks for pointing it out.

I think you are missing the point of using an e-ink device.. I don't think anyone would use one because of "how powerful" it is.

I don't want to read for hours on end on my phone or computer. With this, I can turn backlight off and use a lamp, like a normal book. Better for my eyes and relaxing.

Also, having dedicated devices for certain activities will change how you interact with them when using them. If I read a book on my computer I am tempted to look things up, get some work done or play a game. This is just for leisurely reading, and so when I pick it up that is what I do with it.

If you read a lot (books, not documentation which requires looking things up) then it really is a lot better for your eyes and a better experience to use e-ink.

Been using an Onyx Boox Nova 3 for maybe ~~8~~ 4 years now. It runs android, drm free everything (edit: it has no store really, it is basically empty. Supports virtually any filetype you can read. Epub, pdf, mobi, cbz). For some android could be a distraction from reading, but the browser is slow enough to were you use it to hop on annas-archive, get a book and then quickly close it. File transfer via shared wifi or USB, good reader, some nice reading stats without needing any account. Recommend if anyone wants to jump the amazon ship.

Nicotine and some chocolate these days. I always take a cup of coffee and a piece of cocolate every day. It is sacred at this point.

I've been listening through the Ozric Tentacles discography. Idk why I never got into Space Rock before but as a fan of Psytrance it is kind of a no brainer really.

Got into it after reading Eat Static are ex-members of Ozric, and so decided to check it out.

And right now Ishq, ambient. Was a feature on Jon Hopkins latest album RITUAL.

Juno is so good. Sounds like a very nice weekend.

Yeah, but at least I can make a grilled cheese unlike that other dunce Gordon

A VA compiled and mixed by a Dutch(?) DJ, DJ Athome. I thought it was just going to be your average compilation at first but it is very worth giving a listen to for any fan of Space Rock, Psydub or Psychadelic music in general as the DJ is mixing these styles seemlessly. Honestly one of my best finds this year.

Includes Ozric Tentacles, Eat Static, Divine Soma Experience and more.

Netsh is a hidden gem I really thought would stop being hidden, and just become a gem that everyone agreed was beautiful. Sadly, I never see any mentions of this artist online, and they don't seem to have many listeners on streaming platforms..

Netsh is without a doubt the most underrated artist I know, and I listen to a lot of obscure shit (good shit) so there are a lot of contenders to that title.

Btw, if you are a fan of Ambient, then the album "To My Creators" is an incredibly beautiful album, reminiscent in style (and quality) of Dylan Henner at times.

For the moment, I just don't engage in political discussion on Lemmy. It is way to extreme for me in general. It makes sense tho that those who don't feel their opinions fit anywhere else (or get them banned etc.) gather in a place that allows for freer discussion, which I think is a good thing really.

And also just posting about niche music makes me happier than getting angry online so.. That's been a good motivation.

Nice. Any chance my existing spotify accound could get banned or something? I want some QOL changes but am afraid of losing ~400 playlists..

Ah, as opposed to the regularly scheduled kind

This whole article reads insane

Experts eventually concluded that the spread of infection in cattle was likely tied to feeding practices. They speculate it began when cows were fed meat and bone meal from other cows that had prion disease.

I'm sorry but I am gonna choose to forget I ever learnt about this hellspawn.

Sorry for second post today but I am finding a lot of good new releases today.

Atom TM is a very interesting artist in many different electronic genres. From literal elevator music to sexy techno and odd IDM adjacent and ambient. This one is a collection of ambient noise released over past ten years. I recently found him, so it is a first listen for me.

I'm on Texturen IV, so I haven't gone through all of it yet, but the first four alone are all really good.

(First one is a bit slow, but you could probably start from II with no problems).

Great new album I discovered today. Abrasive, harsh and peaceful.

I have a deep love for Houston and Memphis rap and g-funk. This is one of my favorite albums from the Houston scene. While there are many great album covers in the southern rap and hiphop scene this one is just so funny. Ocean Of Funk is a funny name, but coupled with a low-rider "surfin' the waves of funk", it becomes priceless to me.
