God dammit Todd…

The Wizard Tower was so cool too…

That’s true, but, like I said, it’s replaced gaming for me entirely.

No, but we do have web apps for sheets… finally

You and me both brother. I’ve been purchasing slightly older devices second hand lately. While I can’t maintain these devices myself, I can save a phone from entering the landfill while saving a chunk of cash.

I wonder what percentage of buyers are jumping ship outside the android space as users become less enthusiastic about purchasing a phone every two years or so. It may be irksome seeing their device getting fewer updates when the an iPhone from 2017(maybe 18?) still got a major iOS update this past year.

Holy shit really?!? That’s the main reason most people think their phone is “going bad!” That will be wonderful for sustainability.

Strangely enough, I’ve come to enjoy 3d printing warhammer over magic and d&d.

Yeah, it employes me. It gives everyone access to a wealth of information, but it’s turned into a shit show of grifters and derailment.

Kinda been a net negative for humanity, imo.

Warhammer 40K

It’s really deep, the community is pretty cool, we all 3d print and despise the company that makes the game. Sounds wonderful to me.

Risk less profit makes the quants and the suits happy. At worst you waste the wages of the artist to create model, and the whole bureaucratic corporate process to get it QA’d and on the shop.

I can understand the intent behind this, but I wonder if it will actually prevent kids bypassing these restrictions. Much less, in my own country minors that shouldn’t be on platforms have public accounts.

Without proper enforcement of such restrictions and/or actual technical solutions to enforce this on the user’s end, this is just feel-good signaling.

Man, I’m just hoping the touch screen issues go away on my 11

Not super clean up close, but it looks good from afar!

My first army was nids -- what a lovely change of pace!

You all were so receptive and kind with my last post. It's been honestly a blast painting and building all these little gants. Picked up the Hive Tyrant (non winged), Tervigon, the new Neurotyrant, and Combat Patrol. Haven't painted the really sweet models since I want to hone hobbying on my mass of fodder Tyranids tend to run.

After talking to the Nid's Discord, 80 Gant's is the target I'm trying to hit. Good lord, I don't know how you "wide army" folks do it 😅

Learned a lot -- but my nids turned out better than expected!!

(I still don't know what to do with the tops of their guns, but idk)

Y'all have a "painting techniques tutorial playlist?

I'm looking into starting WarHammer 40k, and I combed through advice related from other posts over the years. Found a faction that I vibe with and their aesthetic (Necrons). Additionally, I started to read through the Core Rules and their codex found in the sidebar as well. I just have a few questions related to the 9th -> 10th edition change.

Will figures that I buy right now (and could potentially be 9th) be legal in 10th edition play? Does the rules/codex changes merely change the 'stats' of the figures? Are there any Necrons I purchase that won't exists/be legal in the rules in 10th? (Idk, say an older figure isn't 'supported' or w.e.)

Pardon these questions, I come from a Magic Background and there's a concept of rotation from that game and I didn't know edition changes were the equivalent.

I notice that a '10th ed' Combat Patrol is slated for winter of this year for my skeleton robots, would I be better served waiting for that or acquiring figures right now?

Cheers for any responses.

As a DM of many years I've collected battle maps, and I could post them here to fill the community with content. This issue is I did not make them, and I wondered how the community felt about posting them here.

Here's an idea of how to do it ethically:

  1. Include their watermark (obviously)
  2. Include a link to their socials (this one might he hard for me since my only socials are Mastodon and Lemmy)
  3. Ask the creator for explicit consent (this one would be extremely difficult, as above. Additionally, the creator may not exist anymore.)

Any thoughts? I didn't see rules in the sidebar so I figured to just ask. Thanks!

It's surprising to me how functional this little computer is. The only complaint I have right now is controlling audio input and output!
