I suppose the argument is that MS still makes money on Windows sales, whereas Sony only makes money on the game itself, for PC ports of games.

They're also trialing blocking access on mobile if you use a web browser. I swear, they are really trying to run off the old user base.
It can't be long before they trial actively blocking ad blockers, and then ditching old.reddit.
This happened on a much smaller scale to me. My grandparent's home was demolished to make way for a McMansion after they sold it. They were the only people to ever live in that beautiful house.
