Yes totally, reading my comment again it almost sounds like the AfD would be the only viable solution for social equity. They're facist scammers and will make everything even worse.

I just meant to say that many people feel paralyzed by the status quo and are voting for them out of frustration.

Definitely should have provided some context there instead of just whining polemically, appreciate it.

I'm sure several factors lead to this, population density might be another one. But the truth is that the housing market in germany is pretty fucked right now. Not enough houses are being built because of absurd regulations and real estate companies are buying up the remaining ones just to jack up prices, often even without allowing people to live there.

Rents and property prices are skyrocketing as a result. I'm 31 and make about 50k a year, which is pretty much the median salary here, and with about 60% of my salary evaporating just for renting a one bedroom apartment outside of the city, ever buying my own property seems impossible to achieve.

Also, our government right know somehow expects the middle class to pay for CO2 neutrality in addition to everything else, while rich people barely get taxed and mega corporations receive billions in subsidies to build environment destroying factories.

People are so frustrated with this that they vote for right wing parties (in fucking Germany of all places), because every other party is too fucking tone deaf to do something about social equity

Ah yes, people in the "richest" countries have it the worst, wonder how that happened. As a german i really just want to leave this shithole and move to Scandinavia already

I strongly agree with the first part but this can be dangerous advice for someone with depression who doesn't have the right tools to connect with other people.

Yes, there are many shitty people out there that are just not worth it but PLEASE don't jump to the conclusion that everyone else is at fault here.

Sorry you feel that way. Some advice from a notorious loner with serious depressive episodes:

  • In case you're not: Do some exercise, regularly. It does not only help immensely with mental wellbeing but will also make you more attractive to other people

  • People like jokes but what they like even more is someone who shows interest in their lives. Try to find out what they like and talk to them about it

  • You're not worthless just because you're lonely. Try to find some hobbies or personal projects that are fun to do alone or may even boost your career. Many people don't have the luxury to do whatever they want after work. Having a life of your own may even attract other people. Being independent is sexy

  • Don't be afraid to make a doctors appointment and ask for help. There are MANY people with the same problem and that's your chance to connect with them. Getting the right medication could also be a game changer

Jeez... at least Siri has an excuse to some degree because of Apples privacy pledge

Absolutely nuts to have users pay for engagement. It seems like the worst possible solution to me...

They say there are plans though, how much are they and does this mean there is some kind of "care free plan" for an outrageous amount of money that allows unlimited access?

Danke dafür LOL

I'm sorry, hope this gets resolved for you in the future.

I get that but I feel like we're much closer than you think. Hand tracking has been a thing in budget headsets for years now and it's really solid. There are quite a few really fun experiences that don't require controllers at all.

Apple is about to ditch controllers completely, combining hand tracking with eye tracking. The displays are almost as sharp as real life and headsets today are fully wireless, standalone computers while being 50% slimmer than your Vive. Oh yeah, they also map the environment automatically and have high definition 3D passthrough with AR capabilities.

A lot of that stuff was considered science fiction when the Vive was released. What you want from VR is happening within the next decade, no lightyear jump needed.

Okay, what's your point exactly?
