Careful with UnitedBSD, don't ever register on it without an alias, you'll start receiving spam emails about "offers" after around a month being registered (i don't know if it takes that long to everyone but it was how long it took for me)

Very interesting read, also thanks for the laptop suggestion, there's apparently no updated community made list of compatible laptops.

Months late reply since I wasn't on Lemmy before, but if anyone reading this in the future, the FreeBSD Handbook is a great place to start for anyone wishing to familiarize with *BSD OSes.

Oh, I misinterpreted what you said, I understood it the other way around, my bad. Their page about the translation tool does say it runs locally though so it's a good thing, isn't it? https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/features/translate/
