Excuse me for this stupid question.

I am using a 2-drive case with RAID-1. I did some simple testing by writing to the drive, and took out both drives for inspection: files are there in intact. Great.

Now if one drive dies I still have the other one. Great.

My question is, how do I use a 3rd drive and rebuild this RAID-1? Keep the good drive in the case and just insert the 3rd drive, and the case SHOULD get the data across?

According to the case manual, I need to press the reset button to get things going…. I’m afraid this will also erase the good drive!

I'm currently running an HPE DL360 Gen9, and am considering upgrading to DL380 Gen10.

Since the motherboard and most components are the same for the Gen9, I did some search on what can be reused on the Gen10.

Seems this is a terrible and expensive idea: CPU, memory cannot be re-used in the Gen10.

Any thoughts?

I tried Orico and Jeyi U.2 m.2 to SATA case with Samsung NVMe SSD, and my HPE DL360 Gen9 SFF slots just won’t recognise it.

Does anyone know which brand and model of the m.2 to SATA work in this config?
