Yeah, I know they have to follow their script, so I just play along. And honestly, it’s not as if I’ve never made a stupid mistake before, like accidentally leaving something unplugged.

Trump tweeted that Pence “didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution.”

Trump is so unprincipled that he managed to get it exactly backwards. January 6 is the one time Pence actually stood up and did the right thing. I loathe the man, but I won't deny him credit where it's due. I can't even begin to imagine the level of chaos if he had gone along with Trump and his followers and refused to certify the 2020 election results.

Exactly. I learned that it is a waste of time to try to have a discussion with this kind of person way back in the 80s. They’re willfully ignorant.

I suppose the idea is that it’s possible that someone has written several books in the past, and wants to sell them on Amazon now.

They are mentally ill. Those are not the actions or speech of a sane person.

Some governmental entities have started setting up their own Mastodon servers. I think that’s really the way to go. There’s no reason emergency services should depend on Musk’s goodwill and technical competence.

That was the point where the Republicans ceased even pretending to be a normal political party and embraced their new identity as a fascist death cult. They don’t even have a platform. They literally stand for nothing.

I like the idea that a lot of series are repeating Act II over and over. I had never thought of it that way, but it makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, honestly, I don’t mind reading novels that argue points I disagree with, but the repetitiveness is unbelievable. One of the reasons John Galt’s 60 page speech is so tedious is that all of the points he makes in it had already been made two or three times before by other characters.

I’m always stunned by the numbers that ppl sell out for. I always think it’s hundreds of thousands or millions, but its often like 60k… It’s nuts.

Even the recent scandals about the Supreme Court are surprisingly penny-ante. Thomas sold himself for perks like a ride on a yacht.
