I’ve been playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance (2018) for the past month or so. Haven’t been this immersed in a game world in a long time. Sure it’s a bit janky at parts and gets a while getting used to, but the world is beautiful and the attention to history and realism is incredible!

TRRS is what the iPad uses for mic input and stereo output like in the typical corded apple earplugs (with a mic). The other end of the cable that goes to your mic is most likely a regular TRS. If you use a regular 3.5mm TRS on both ends, the audio will not be routed to the input of the iPad.

But yeah, a camera connector kit or a cheap audio interface will be a better and more robust solution.

The iPads jack input/output can be used to record a signal but you’ll need to connect to the pad with a TRRS cable. This is how the mics that plug directly to your headphone socket work. You may also need a special cable to have a line level signal to work but I haven’t tried this myself. Check out this blog post.

I assume you are using some kind of usb mic with a headphone output? In this case I would instead connect the mic directly to the iPad with a camera connector kit or usb c if it’s a newer iPad. If you must use the headphone output, you will need a trs- trrs cable such as a Rode SC7 but this may not work as intended with the signal levels from the headphone out jack of your mic.

I feel like it’s especially bad if you are searching for anything related to a marketable product. I tried searching ddg for information about using a surge protector with halogen bulbs and all I got was pages and pages of listicles on “best halogen lights 2024” full of affiliate links.

One thing the AI response fails to address is why the 808 became affordable. It got a really mixed response when it was released as people didn’t really like the unnatural synthetic sounds. The 808 (and 909) was a commercial failure and many of them made their way into the second hand market as producers were “upgrading” to sample based machines. Younger and upcoming producers found these machines for cheap and started experimenting with the sounds without regard to how natural they sounded. This pretty much gave birth to the sound of hip hop and many electronic music styles.
