No one suggests openSUSE Tumbleweed?
I use this distro as a workstation OS, laptop for newbie (my wife), for gaming (through steam client, but also with Heroic Game Launcher for GOG and Epic stores) and developing.
It's a rolling release, so I can get resonable updated kernel and graphics drivers, but it's also an enough stable distro.
Give it a chance ;-)
And if you want a more stable release, instead of a rolling release, try openSUSE Leap.

E guardando un po' il grafico, direi che il peggio deve ancora venire. Tipo... tra fine luglio e la prima metà di agosto.
- openSUSE Tumbleweed sulla workstation in ufficio
- openSUSE Tumbleweed sul portatile della moglie
- openSUSE Tumbleweed sulla workstation di casa
- Raspbian sul Raspberry Pi 3 e sul primo Raspberry
- ReadyNAS OS sul ReadyNAS Netgear (è comunque una derivata Debian)
- Android su smartphone, tablet e TV Box varie
- RedHat e CentOS sui server dove lavoro (per ora), ma non è stata una mia scelta. Più che altro l'ho ereditata
