It always make me think (probably I am just over thinking) since I am new to HA which hardwires to my router via ethernet and it has Internet access. My question is what stops the devices that are integrated with HA from talking to some random cloud server) ?

I have not connected any of those smart devices via wifi its all on Zigbee

I am new to Eero and Zigbee so I would like to get the sentiment on what people think about privacy when it comes to setting up your Smart home devices that support Zigbee protocol with Eero given the fact that you need to link it to Echo for Voice controlling.

I know running your own smart hub with a rasp pi and zigbee Gateway keeps things in your local network but does using Eero expose it to Amazon cloud? Using Echo does sound like it will but any other alternative?
