Honestly at this point I'm buying used drives. I have redundancy anyway, and if I get a 50% discount for buying used and have to buy 10% more drives for extra redundancy, that still comes up Milhouse.

I am confused as to what Western Digital's long-term goals are. Are they honestly deciding to become an HDD-only company?
How long is there really going to be a mass market for HDDs?
On the other hand, forcing adoption too late is going to delay Wayland, and it's not like Xorg is ever getting HDR.
Pushing it for 2025 seems about right to me; that's still two years of dev left, and two years can go fast if there's real impetus to improve things.
