Agreed. been building pc's around 2 decades now. RAM is something that really helps longevity of a system build. I ran a 2600k with 16gb of ram for 12 years, when I bought it everyone said it was overkill. New PCs now have about 16gb often lol... enough said. New rig is 64gb 6000 cl30, basically double or quadruple whatever is standard today and you'll be set.

Margins. The yield rate on the zen3 chiplets is stupid high so the 'bad' ones are mostly 5600x etc and then when you combine that with x3d they must have a very small pool...
Just ordered 7900xtx nitro+ and a 7800x3d, good timing. do i get two copies lol?
7970 should've been #2 or #1 IMO. It was their greatest GPU in terms of overclockability. It launched at 925MHz. My reference one clocked to 1.3GHz on the stock cooler (40% OC) and ram also went to the moon (not too far though, e.g. it gained perf, not lost it due to ECC like some people do). Loud but fast. It was faster than the next generation from Nvidia lmao.
Sure it was a golden sample but damn it was insane to get that much performance for free.
