I mean no one has an M series MacBook for more than 3 years yet so there's a bit of an unknown here. However, the engineering on these things leans towards "a very long time". They run cooler and the same family of chips have powered iDevices, some of which have had 7-10 year lifespans already. Think about an iPad which get used daily, for example.

A MacBook Air doesn't even have a fan that could break. Seems likely to last a long time. The monitor hinge is probably the part most likely to fail here.

I really think a 13" is going to be too small for you.

Yes 16G on a MacBook is better than 8G on a MacBook. Was anyone but YouTubers doubting this?

The real test would be to call out Apple's marketing BS and actually test an 8G MacBook vs 16G Window laptop. But let's be real, 8G on a "pro" machine is ridiculous no matter how you slice it.

The new Nike sport loops are very close to the trail loops btw. Bought one because I noticed to connectors were the same on both ends (not titanium of course). Looks like the same width too as my trail loop.

Trail and sports loops do the same thing it’s normal. Heat and activity change how tight or loose they feel.

Yeah I honestly don’t understand the “pro” 8GB offer in line up. It’s really just there to entice buyers to look at the more expensive model. The airs are great general purpose laptops. The only reason I’d look at the pro is for screen and speakers. They are slightly better than the air.
