I can't trust big tech to do anything remotely good anymore, after what's happened with... well, basically every single social media platform owned by them. I'm sure I'll take a peek at it but I haven't touched Facebook or Instagram in years for several reasons, so I really don't want to give Meta any more of my attention.

Pretty disappointing to see something I've spent so much time with go down the tubes like this. I know that for a lot of people, Reddit has been dying for years, but I've stuck to old.reddit and my Android apps, and haven't looked at /r/all in a long, long time. I unsubscribed from all of the big/default subreddits, and just hang out in my happy subs where people (mostly) are people and aren't lunatics, and it's still been a nice place.

Killing the mobile apps is pretty much the last straw for me. I'm sure I'll still click on search results from Reddit sometimes, but I won't be logged in anymore and it will only be on a browser with ad-blocking and privacy features. There is no way I'm downloading their app.

If they were to go this route for all users, I would simply never use Reddit again on my phone. And yes, I'm in the minority, and yes, I know they don't care about losing me, but man, what a bummer.

Oh ya, I'm sorry. I'm not judging you for pre-ordering. You do what makes you happy. I think I would probably start a new character though :)

From what it sounds like, it seems like enough of an overhaul that I'd probably start a whole new playthrough. I'll have to wait and see what reviews are like though. I bought the original game on sale after most of the issues were fixed. I'm not sure I trust CDPR to release something finished just yet.

I'm sure it's gonna be an absolute disaster. I can't even fathom why they would think this is a good idea right now. Probably some roundabout bullshit about pleasing investors.
