Has anyone ever said the first statement up there in the top-left? I wouldn't doubt there's some fringe group that would, but I also think they would be in the vast minority and you'd need to specifically go looking to find it. I dislike this kind of meme for that reason, it's sowing a divide that doesn't need to exist.

Honestly I sometimes wish the trigger finger was itchier. I think this should have happened back when hexbear was also defederated, but at least it's finally done with.

That's why it's important to assess the tone the DM is using when they say that.

Do they sound defeated? You're probably about to derail away from something planned to something that will have to be fully improvised on the spot, reconsider for sanity's sake

Do they sound excited? You're probably about to trigger a really cool trap, full steam ahead

Really like the bits of Rotunda that are themed like an abandoned/destroyed base

I hope Lemmy eventually picks up more features like polls. I miss natively embedding polls.

The difference is in obscurity and vanity. Everyone online knows who Musk is, people outside Reddit (and even those on Reddit, some of them) don't know who Spez is. The scale is different, and so are the severity and publicness of the negative changes. Like hell, a total site rebrand is a pretty noticeable thing.

EDIT: Case in point, everyone refers to him as Spez instead of his name, Steve Huffman.

Truth be told, this is the last MCU thing I'm really looking forward to that's been revealed currently. Season 1 was so solid and actually stuck the landing (at least for me, I know some didn't like the last episode being so exposition heavy), so I hope the second will do just as well.

Now this actually looks pretty cool! They're obviously trying to play off the increased hype around streaming services with the name and presentation, but that's perfectly fine if it gets the public more interested in astronomy and the exploration on space. Big plus that it's coming to Roku as well, that'll save me some trouble.

Delete your account, hopefully.

In seriousness, probably something like "Extend" or "XPost" even though those sound awful. They might just go back to just "post", maybe.

I doubt we will see any big dent in numbers so soon, if at all. The brutal honest truth is that most users of Reddit are casual lurkers who just want a content feed and do not care about anything else. This is why subreddits protested as they did, interrupting the content feed with blackouts and extremely niche rules.

What may actually happen is that a lot of the content creators leave, which will decrease the quality of the site in the long term and maybe push out the casual user when the content gets bad enough. This is not something easily quantifiable, so we'll just have to wait and see.

But personally, I'm ok even if reddit isn't toppled. Now that I've stopped using it, I have no stake in the matter anymore.
