My current daily driver is a belt drive and it is great!

I have never had to worry about the drive train even once, maintenance is essentially just blasting the sucker with water every so often.

I have had it for about a year and have only taken it to the shop for anything related to the drive once, and that was just to flush the fluids in the internal gear hub as is recommended after your first 3 months and subsequently once per year.

I got the Brilliant L - Train through priority on sale, so it was a great deal! And beautiful to boot

The thing that kept me attached to VR was Echo. Guess what they did to one of my literal favorite games

Not only is this comment stupid, but it isn't even remotely true. There are tons of famous, powerful individuals in all stretches of the public sphere that actively support Trump and the Republican party.

Something I think is interesting is that, in order for companies to adopt these better non ad reliant models, they would have to dramatically scale down.

In a climate where ad and clicks = revenue, your solution is to scale as large as you can and pump out content to maximize views. But that wouldn't work under normal models

I didn't quite figure out the issue. It seemed to be a problem with directx, and I wasn't certain how to proceed. I chose to uninstall the nvidia drivers and proceed, for the time, with integrated graphics on my Intel chip until NVK ships with fedora 40

Pixelfed is really interesting, and this sounds like a fun project!

The only problem major problem I have encountered with trying to use defederated social medias, outside of Lemmy, like it and mastadon has been the lack of discover ability. I guess I don't know how to properly utilize the platforms, but I never find much that is particular to my interests

Good, use them for something worthwhile.

It is dystopian really the nature of shuffling hundreds or thousands of people to a building, into a cubicle, in front of a computer for 8 hours a day.

This is awesome! I don't use the dedicated GPU on my laptop for anything outside light gaming, so I will definitely be switching to this as soon as it is available for Fedora

You would still have to develop good biking infrastructure.

Also, what if people aren't physically able to take the roughness that can come with riding a bike/scooter (I ride my bike as my main form of transportation and bad roads can be really aggressive) In that case you would also want to throw in a good transit system people could reliably use and get to places at a reasonable time (my local transit system is so bad that it would take an hour and a half to get to school, whereas it takes about 40 minutes by bike)

And at the end of the day, supporting a multitude of different transport methods from walking to high speed rail is beneficial for everyone regardless of thale situation we end up in.

I am actively convinced that the boomer generation, and a chunk of the gen x gen, all had their development heavily and substantially impacted by the egregious use of lead throughout america, plus the waves of radiation that wafted over half of the country because of nuclear testing

You know what? I agree with that.

I was taking my personal opinion and applying that at large, and forgot it was early access. A bit short sighted of me.

I hope the game has a bright future, even if it may not appeal to me.

Yeah, the game's popularity comes directly from it's gimmicky nature and not from any actual good gameplay loop. Not a single idea, mechanic, or even item is original.

I played for two days with friends and got over it. And I imagine for many, once the appeal of the gimmick wears thin, it's all and over with
