Probably the admission fee to the country club attached to the greens. There'll be a much more "reasonable" annual fee (maybe $10k) and maybe greens fees per game.

Private clubs and country clubs do this to keep poor people out.

Likely a holdover from colonial times where British overlords wanted to golf and didn't much care whether Chinese people had a place to live.

I told the Brits that their melanin-based rail signaling system made no sense, but they just wouldn't listen.

Can confirm that I mentally masturbate to line going down instead of line going up.

Japan is a place where you can leave your phone on the table at a Cafe while you go to the bathroom and still expect it to be there when you come back, but God help you if you left your nice umbrella in the communal umbrella holder on a rainy day.

These types of "Japan so polite" stories are 50-50 real or absolute bullshit fabrication.

I question if it ever really happened just based on the logistics of passing anything around a huge crowd in an uncoordinated manner and having it end up at its origin point.

they don't import immigrants from third world countries

They do though.

They pay billions and billions of yen to import bottom barrel people from a failed state.

They put these immigrants in useless things called "United States Military Bases" and then spend billions of yen more trying to stop these thugs from killing and raping locals.

Members pay an entrance fee of about HK$400,000 (S$68,000) and some have been vocal in their opposition to the redevelopment plan, citing ecological, commercial and social reasons to make their case.

Nobody working class is missing out on their golf because of this.

Beijing directly exhorted local officials to fix the problems in the aftermath of the mass protests that rocked the city in 2019, demanding that Hong Kong get rid of so-called cage homes or subdivided apartments by 2049.

Based Beijing.

The decision to build on the golf course also reflects how old business elites in Hong Kong are losing political sway as more staunchly pro-Beijing loyalists gain ground.

sicko-charging

When Beijing’s top official for the city visited it in April, he did not meet the real estate developers association, which represents some of the richest families, raising questions over whether the interests of the wealthy clans are even a major concern to the top leadership.

party-sicko

Mr Zeman argued that shrinking the golf course hits at the heart of the way business is done in the city. “A lot of deals are done on the golf course all over the world for business people,” he said.

Fuck off back to your offices and make your deals there you fucking ghouls.

It gets worse the more you scroll:

Reason I rank Taiwanese (many of whom hold dual US citizenship) less loyal than HKnese is because many HK residents flew Mainland in waves after experiencing Socialism terror, whereas Taiwanese experienced Mao counterpart’s authoritarianism, never truly understand the nature of living under CCP and harbor unrealistic ideas of CCP.

Malaysian/Indonesian Chinese are worse, because they lost their privilege and suffered “pogroms” from US supported democratization of natives, and harbor even less realistic ideas of CCP.

… Although I support @gerrytan on most of his initiatives, I have to disagree wrt 👇:

Canada may be snatching up Chinese talent that is restricted by US, in the long run it is in the best interest of US not to use corporate resources to train future competitors/enemies of US, and train up its own talent pool instead.

I just have seen too many examples to not learn this lesson.

Cherry on top of this shit sundae is that she's reply tweeting a white dude who wants to actively discriminate against Chinese in the US military.

Do other diaspora communities also have to deal with this shit? I want to say that the account posting this is a white LARPer but I've heard this shit out of HKers and Taiwanese irl.

Link if you want psychic damage.

This has got to be the most pathetic loss by a NATO force against foliage since Vietnam.

Just holy shit the lengths these Westoids will go to to avoid admitting that the Russian military has a basic level of competence, or that the Ukrainians fucked up by launching a counter attack they were not prepared for.
