Mostly be working on my Ansible knowledge for my RHCE exam next week. I tend to also make some bread (banana loaf) during the weekends so looking forwards to that ☺️

As the official lemmy police I am arresting you for defending a mad lad caught abusing powers. You do not have to say anything. But, it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence.

Jokes aside.. I do think people should be allowed to post opinions an discuss other peoples behavior. Gol dude was caught abusing his powers, which is a disgusting thing to do, personally don't mind him being called out for that in a post here and there. It's not an attack on the poster, it's a reminder to folks who the guy really is.

I'm all for the truth, no matter who it is.

Been a while since I used Aegis, but as far as I remember Aegis is not cross-platform? Aegis you also have to sync the database/file yourself if you want backups of it. So its really down to preferences I guess.

Personally I like having it synced across my many devices for the convenience. I also really enjoy the work Ente is putting into their apps, they're developing solid apps with excellent functionality and releasing updates based on community feedback.

Hiya, I am looking into a few different services to better manage my finances, among the highest recommended ones there is ActualBudget. Actualbugdet itself is opensource and private, however, to get the most out of this service you may connect it to your bank, via a third party service. Has anyone here actually done this? The service (for EU folks) is called GoCardless. This however, to me is ringing many alarms..

I assume there is no private alternative that allows you to connect to your bank into AcualBudget or another service, if so please let me know! Managing finances would be so much more convenient if it all was automatically synced into a self-hosted service.

I'd be very surprised if this was some sort of sham. At least both Jeff Geerling and Raid Owl have posted about getting these; though like sent to them without them backing them directly.

 

These small little handy-dandy devices seem to get more and more popular. Anyone here chipped in for a JetKVM yet? Looks and sounds pretty solid. Are there a lot of you that have aquired a nanoKVM?

Yeah, I do this too! A lot more convenient for me as I have multiple computers needing the same files.

I'm about to distro hop (again) to test Tumbleweed for a longer period of time 🦎 However, something i've not done before is to have my /home directory on a separate partition, should I? If I do it, should it be a different filesystem than the rest? (Been reading on OpenSuse TW forums and seen people mentioning that they use BTRFS for /home and XFS for the rest, or the other way around. Are there any benefits of using separate filesystems, or is this done to get the BTRFS backup for the /home dir?

What are the pros and cons of doing these changes to my system, lemmy know :)

Currently exploring some tools around this myself too. I'd recommend having a look at Gonic, LMS(light music server) and Navidrome for hosting music. Personally I quite liked the simplicity of Gonic.

If you need to re-sort/manage your music then, Beets and Musicbrainz Picard, or MediaMonkey (if you're on Windows) are your friends. These can add alot of additional metadata to your library.

Beets is apparently the "best" tool out of these as it has a big plugin library and hella customizable configuration for your exact setup.

Appreciate the find, but doesn't seem to be very up to date. Hasn't included either Stalker 2 or Path of Exile 2, which both launch during November.

 

I am using Proton Calendar, hoping there is some service that allows me to subscribe to their service/.ics so that it integrates nicely into my calendar. If anyone have any idea of a such service then let me know :)

Hi, I am looking for video clipping tool that record the last 60 seconds or so from any game I play, but on Linux. Software such as MedalTV, Nvidia ShadowPlay(i have AMD card) etc.. is what I am on the lookout for. I know OBS is one option, probably the best(?), but are there any other suggestions?

Any tips or suggestions appreciated :)

 

Personally paid for Niagara launcher as I find that to be the far superior launcher to any other I've tried. My second one is Symfonium, the most feature rich and well developed audio player.

What are yours?
