This is the oldest song I know of that could arguably be called rap. If anyone knows something older or from a similar time period let me know!

Specifically it was Michigan and Colorado and the study took place between June and August

agony-shivering

Since April 2024, sporadic infections with highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) A(H5) viruses have been detected among dairy farm workers in the United States. To date, infections have mostly been detected through worker monitoring, and have been mild despite the possibility of more severe illness. During June–August 2024, CDC collaborated with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to implement cross-sectional serologic surveys to ascertain the prevalence of recent infection with HPAI A(H5) virus among dairy workers. In both states, a convenience sample of persons who work in dairies was interviewed, and blood specimens were collected. Among 115 persons, eight (7%; 95% CI = 3.6%–13.1%) had serologic evidence of recent infection with A(H5) virus; all reported milking cows or cleaning the milking parlor. Among persons with serologic evidence of infection, four recalled being ill around the time cows were ill; symptoms began before or within a few days of A(H5) virus detections among cows. This finding supports the need to identify and implement strategies to prevent transmission among dairy cattle to reduce worker exposures and for education and outreach to dairy workers concerning prevention, symptoms, and where to seek medical care if the workers develop symptoms. Timely identification of infected herds can support rapid initiation of monitoring, testing, and treatment for human illness, including mild illness, among exposed dairy workers.

Set aside your thoughts on dunk content.

As the main base of this site, we, the users, must call for Carcosa to rescind their resignation immediately.

It is apparent to me that they are a widely beloved admin, and from the 2 or 3 times I have interacted with them, it is obvious why that is the case. Their approach to the administration and moderation of this site is admirable, and I worry we will be lost without them.

As has been stated in other threads, if they feel stepping away is for their own well-being, we must respect that decision and simply thank them for their excellent service to the site.

That said, please join me in showing our appreciation and admiration for Carcosa.

Soon you will be forced to wear super uncomfortable footwear too! Hope your balance is good and you never need to run.

Reports from southern Lebanon suggest that Irish UNIFIL peacekeepers were involved in a tense standoff with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on the Lebanese-Israeli border, leading to a brief but intense exchange of fire. The incident took place near the village of Al-Qusayr, a key area patrolled by UNIFIL forces as part of their mandate to monitor the situation.

According to sources on the ground, Israeli forces, conducting operations in the border region, approached a UNIFIL checkpoint manned by Irish peacekeepers, ordering them to vacate the area in anticipation of a wider military engagement against Hezbollah positions. The Irish contingent, fulfilling their UN-mandated mission, refused to abandon their post, citing their duty to maintain peace and protect local civilians.

The situation escalated rapidly when a miscommunication occurred between the two forces, leading to warning shots being fired by the IDF. The Irish peacekeepers, believing they were under attack, returned fire in what officials described as a "controlled defensive response." The exchange, which lasted several minutes, saw light arms fire on both sides but no serious injuries were reported.

UNIFIL headquarters has launched an immediate investigation into the incident. UN officials have emphasized that their peacekeepers remain neutral and that the exchange of fire was an unfortunate misunderstanding in a high-tension environment. Both the Israeli government and the Irish peacekeepers have issued statements downplaying the event, with Israeli military spokespeople calling it a “localized issue” that was “quickly de-escalated.”
