That's the second person from hexbear that you didn't realise at the time of posting. You're going to have to get better at spotting us if we're so awful.

There's no reason to be afraid of people engaging with your opinion.
There's no "brigading", it's simply a large instance of people who can see active threads, that's all. They can't downvote you, so are accustomed to responding to things thoughtfully and in earnest. There's no reason to be afraid of them unless you literally want to see zero opposing views, or, unless you'd like to call them "tankies" or "bots" but can't cope with similar treatment in kind.
It feels kind of MAGA-y to you because you're using the American definition of Liberal. Both the American Republican party and Democratic party are ideological liberals. Whom MAGA folk would call "liberal", we just call "blue-MAGA".
I'd call this a debate but it's weak, I don't think there's even anything but bait.
Everyone that disagrees with you is a child? Sounds like the kind of thing a bot would say.
You just engaged in a discussion without name calling, malice, or anuses.
The difference is you didn't call us bots, tankies, nazi's, or use ableist or homophobic slurs.
Please, link some of these sources.
There was no massacre within Tiananmen Square. This isn't even a controversial statement. Look it up in a source you yourself consider to be neutral.
How was this "hostile"?
A couple of people drifting by reply to you and you consider it “brigading"? Aren't you a delicate creature.
You're likely getting that response because Hexbear has developed it's own culture of having earnest conversations that are intended to enrich and inform the users taking part in the discussion.
The derisive, dismissive responses are a reaction to someone breaking that etiquette by grandstanding, accusing people of logical fallacies, or resorting to insults: these are things that indicate that the person isn't sincerely interested in trying to understand the person they are speaking to.
