This is like the Mr. Beast arguments. Is donating even tho you make money off of it bad? So should we ban anything that does that? Only charitable efforts that don't make money are now allowed?

Or maybe, sure, there is profit made, but $1M or whatever to help people even if it makes a company money is still helping people that may not have been otherwise? But yeah, fuck people who get their vision restored because.... "reasons".

Not to hi-jack but in the middle of scanning my in-laws wedding book, celebrating their 50th anniversary. Any suggestions for colourization? Been using Photoshops Nueral Filters and it's okay. Scanned in on Epson V600 with the highest detail I can so should have "some" pixels to play around with.

Say what you want about apple, but this isn't just "apple" its Late Stage Capitalism when being the biggest company on the planet, where your market value is greater than most countries and you have $162B cash on hand.... you hit a point where companies can not do better. At some point it's going to be theunited companies of America.

X to doubt. Apple "usually" plans these changes in ahead so other devices can take advantage of it. Not saying that is the case here at all as there are times it did.

I think Apple has already hit general adoption for speed but I think they are working on 2 key aspects that were not ready for the M1/2.

  1. PCI lanes M1/2/3 all seem limited in this respect
  2. CPU/GPU extensions (ray tracing, etc.. that you're seeing on M3)
  3. Memory management

I think the M3 is their next iteration to tackle the above which is why it was at a throw away conference the day before Halloween. It's not meant to be a generational shift, its iterative.

People like long battery life (a staple of Apple Macs) so its an easy sales feature while they focus on some more core functionality in future chips. Nothing wrong with the approach, also why I assume this is non-pro ATM, the IO/PCI lanes.

Just my speculation tho.
