You're right and that's why I love them. You can feel that they have fun when you go to a concert. And when they have fun, the crowd has fun too! It is quite more enjoyable when you are standing in the crowd knowing that the band members have as much fun as you.

SCANDAL are making songs that they like and not songs that may sell well. Also, they are exprimenting quite a bit. "Ai no shotai" from the latest album "Mirror" comes to mind. In that song they added a gospel choir which is something that I do not listen to every day. It is my favorite song from the album.

Plus the fact that they have a wide vararity of styles. Every album feels fresh. This surely comes with the downside that one may not like every single song. There may be songs that are more your cup of tea and songs that you do not like very much. But that's OK. Just listen to the songs that you like. (Honestly, there are SCANDAL songs that I can't seem to warm up to, no matter how hard I try. And one of them is a popular SCANDAL song. But eh, they have an impressive discography. There are so many songs that I like.)

Sorry for raving about my favorite band. ๐Ÿ˜…

What SCANDAL songs do you like so far?

Oh, Ok. I hope you get some time to relax with Japanese music. "26" is a really great song, I can understand that it left an impression on you.

I will also think about some songs with happy couples in the MVs for my next posts ๐Ÿ˜‰

By the way, did you decide to order the album with the Bluray?

@[email protected] I'm sure you've already seen the new MV. What's your opinion? :)

I was in the same position two months ago and decided to go with the Prusa MK4 kit with the enclosure. So far I'm happy with my purchase. The deciding factor for me was lastly the loudness of the device because I wanted to use the printer in my apartment. Reviews said that the printer is relatively quiet and I can confirm that. If the door to my "printer room" is closed I'm not able to hear it.

Some points about the MK4:

Positives:

  • It prints very fast with the new Input Shaper firmware
  • I can control the printer via LAN and WiFi (or print directly from a USB drive)
  • Excellent print quality
  • Open Source and spare parts are avaiable for a long time

Negatives:

  • Maintenance is complicated after installing the printer in the enclosure. You can only access the printer through the front door which makes reaching the sides of the printer difficult and removing the printer from the enclosure is not easy as well because you first have to disassemble the display unit.

I dont' have access to a Bambulab printer so I'm not able to compare both the Prusa MK4 and the Bambulab P1S. Nevertheless, I'm happy with my printer and can recommend it.

Cube 2: Sauerbraten seems to still be maintained. I haven't played it for a long time, though.

I really like the mix of Rock and EDM in this song.

"CENT" is CENT CHiHiRO CHiTTiii's solo project. She started it before the end of BiSH.

This is one of the more rock-like songs from her.

I like this song, too. IIRC this was an april fools joke at first.

Yes, the link you posted above is correct. I've ordered directly from Japan through cdjapan. All the stuff I'm ordering from Japan is mostly through cdjapan. I never had problems and the packaging quality is outstanding.

My favorite LOVEBITES song - Live!

One of the songs I'm currently listening to. The song and the music video feel more like a something from a musical. I quite like it. It makes me wish to be able to understand Japanese.

DeepL translates the video description as follows:

Tomoyasu Hotei's long-awaited latest work "GUITARHYTHM โ…ฆ". In the 35 years since his solo debut "GUITARHYTHM" after the breakup of BOร˜WY, this is the seventh installment in the popular series that has impacted the scene by opening up an overwhelming world view.

Set in the year 2023, the first year of AI, the sound concept of this album is "Retro Future," reminiscent of 90s modern music, with a message of hope and warning for the future, and Hotei's guitar sings sharply and elongated throughout the entire album. The album has been highly acclaimed by many artists who should be called "guitarism children," and has been called the best work in the history of guitarism.

The music video for "Andromeda (feat. Aina the End)," which was released earlier in the year, has been a huge hit with fans on both sides. The film, directed by the brilliant Atsunori Higashiichi, depicts the sad and strange story of a scientist (played by Hotei) and an android (played by Aina the End) who entrust their dreams for the future to an android in a spectacular science fiction rock opera. Aina the End's stunning performance and presence, along with Hotei's silhouette, are stylishly and densely presented in this music video, which is sure to be talked about as a masterpiece that will remain in the history of music videos.

GUITARHYTHM โ…ฆ" is an ambitious work that should be enjoyed by people of all ages, and can be called the culmination of Hotei's constant challenge to new styles as a guitarist.

Yes, I did receive the live Bluray and I've seen the concert now multiple times.

The sound is perfect, camera work is good (not many unfocussed frames), image quality is very high (although you can see some "flickering" when the cameras shutter speed doesn't match with frequency of the lightning) and there are interesting camera angles. There aren't too many cuts (that's good IMO, I dont't like it when there are four cuts per second and you can't see a thing). The sound of the Bluray doesn't seem to be much post processed (auto tune and the like) if at all. You can hear it if the singer can't reach a high note (but that occurs rarely). Nethertheless, the singer's live performance is extremly good. It sounds like a studio recording. Mixing is also very good, you can hear everything very clear (I do not own any good audio equipment to judge that but with normal speakers or headphones it sounds very good).

All negative points I've mentioned above are really, really minor. You may not even be able to notice them. The Bluray is of very high quality.

Only thing I'm missing is a live performance of "GIRL AND", my favorite song from them. The concert was held last year, so there wasn't a chance that they could play it ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm very satisfied with the purchase and will surely buy the next concert Bluray as well.

TLDR: Overall, 5/7. Would recommend to buy the Bluray. ๐Ÿ˜„

I hope they come to Europe soon.

One of the fun songs of Yabai T-Shirts Yasan. Here is the MV to the song and there is also a "Nisekoi" version (I believe that this song was one of the soundtracks of the Nisekoi live action movie; I've never seen it).

I remember reading an article in the Japan Times about this band after I discovered them back in 2018. Unfortunately, I'm currently unable to find it.

IIRC, they met at the university in Osaka and performed at a competiton where one of the critics said that they will never be successful because of their unsual lyrics. But now (2023) they are playing on all big rock festivals in Japan and have performed in the Osaka Jo-Hall (in 2021) and Nippon Budokan (this year).

Their lyrics are a bit unusal but fun. There are songs about bad Wi-Fi connections, different file formats and lots of Tank-Tops ๐Ÿ˜„

I like the melancholic feeling of this song.

Sometimes on hot summer days, I remember the opening scene with the railroad crossing and I get the desire to listen to this song again.

NINGEN ISU have a unique style that I haven't heard anywhere else. If you like this style I recommend you to listen to their whole discography. They have been around since the late eighties so there are a lot of songs.

One of my favorite tracks from ONE OK ROCK.

There are also two live versions available on YouTube: Live from "EYE OF THE STORM" Japan tour and the concert which made me discover this song: "Mighty Long Fall at Yokohama Stadium"

Story of Hope sadly disbanded in 2017. But their songs are still awesome!

I really like the combination of drums with the prominent piano in this song.

It's also amazing that she's able to sing those high notes.

One of my favorites from MOSHIMO. There is also a faster paced song called Tsutta Sakana Ni Esa Yare whose MV references the last scene of this MV.

A few days ago I posted a song from Chatmonchy. After Chatmonchy's disbandment in 2018 Eriko Hashimoto continued to make music, now under her own name.
