No, not really but there are a few hidden gems.

Here is what I use the most:

As a lefty, I have the toolbar on the right, and always hide it or I hit the X at the top. I can remove the “X” entirely (AWESOME), and a simple gesture allows me to toggle the toolbar panel (see first item below). Here are some other favorites for me:

• The toolbar may be opened or closed with a one-finger swipe down (what I stated above)
• The close icon (x) in the top right corner (right-handed)/left corner (left-handed) has been removed. You can still close the document by swiping one finger down from the top (stated above)
• Cycle between two recent documents by swiping two fingers up from the bottom of the page.
• Gesture to swap the last two pen thicknesses (strokes) by swiping one finger down in the top right corner (right-handed)/left corner (left-handed).
• Gesture to swap the last two colors by swiping one finger up in the top right corner (right-handed)/left corner (left-handed).
• Gesture to switch between the last two tools: swipe one finger down in the top left corner (right-handed)/right corner (left-handed).
• Gesture to switch between the writing tool and eraser: swipe one finger up in the top left corner (right-handed)/right corner (left-handed).
• Additional stroke sizes (0.5, 1.5, 5, 8, 13).
• The toolbar icon changes from the default open icon to a brush icon.
• A brand new settings page to configure which hacks should be enabled
• New notebook name defaults to the current date and time (format: yyyy-mm-dd_hhmmss).

There are a few more items, but these are great. Couple the close icon removal with the built-in swipe up to close, and I am very efficient.

You might consider using RCU, as it has some excellent command line features to do what you want, I believe. Here is a link: RCU Rocks :). Hope this helps.

Nice! Thanks for sharing. I would like to have a “script” that allows me to perform a full “data only” backup just in case I over write something. Thinking my command line RCU will do the trick.

You know, I kind of laugh because I liken the Remarkable to the computer on the Apollo 13 space mission. Just seems pretty minimal, I know it’s a *nix OS, but just feels like it’s pretty doggone tight and limited all around. I’ve only experienced one crash, and I do use custom templates, but no custom code. Anyway, I get it, and I love it.

Super easy for me:

• It was affordable (bought a refurb)
• One year free connect subscription
• was not going to try and replace my iPad
  • or kindle for that matter
• truly wanted a notetaking device that felt as good as paper. iPad was horrible w/the pen
• the 100 day return guarantee - huge (low risk)
• and like I said, price point. That was big.

The reviews helped, but you actually need to put it in your hands and use it for a little bit to really decide if it meets your needs. This was right on the mark. Hope this helps.
