That's option two, the sheep will cry bloody murder regardless.

More importantly, the Democrats also have better arguments and facts (at least in this case).

Very interesting read.! Always eye-opening to get the perspective of someone that is so focused on a specific angle. Like so many things lately, this takeaway at the end is both encouraging and simultaneously terrifying:

The irony of this remarkable month of antitrust activity is that it’s both astonishing, far more bigger [sic] than anything anyone expected, yet it’s also only a tiny fraction of what is necessary to reverse the damage monopolists have done to our society.

There's no public money going into this project as far as I can tell.

As a Nebraska fan, I want Prime to fail because I want Colorado to never win another football game. Doesn't matter how.

Clickbait has reached a totally new level with this headline.

But we don't need blockchain to do any of that, someone still has to be trusted so might as well just use normal database tech.

This is great to see!

Biden may not be a progressive as an individual but his administration's agenda is easily the most progressive of my lifetime--and I was old enough to vote for Obama twice. It would be even more so if Congress gave him progressive bills to sign, too!

So far the biggest positive story of 2023 is the massive increase in labor action across multiple industries.

I think it's completely absurd to discuss this when we're also dealing with the fallout from a literal attempted coup. Let's get back to everyone agreeing that democracy is good before we worry about silly stuff like a dress code.

I think it's actually a pretty good episode up until the final few minutes when the questionably sentient lizards show up. How reviled the episode is says more about how people react to that than the overall episode, IMO.

On top of that, I almost always carry a pistol with tritium sights or a light. So maybe that’s another reason I’m a bit more confident in the dark?

Yeah, carrying a gun everywhere might have something to do with why you feel comfortable and other people don't.

The lack of fireflies aren't a rural/urban thing, I don't think. I've always lived in suburbs of a mid-size city and definitely remember fireflies swarming around as a kid, too.
